GIVING RISE
Infinite green leaves burst over night
From buds that formerly held tight
Generous new life sprung into spring
A southern breeze; branches swing
Angled axis solar spasm
While Robbie Rabbit and Carol Cottontail
Recovered and rested and reflected;
Above ground, outside the rabbit hole, a storm brewed.
Frankie The Fox speculated, Petey the Possum desired,
Buddy the Boar rooted up much of the meadow,
Waynie the Water Buffalo ate away at all that was green.
While Debbie Ducks consumed all the clover that could be seen.
