The rain… it has cancelled,
Hopes of another great show
Ball rolling trampled…
Works left and undone
Not even sampled
Nohow and no one
The rain came a tapping
Weather or not
Still, finances strapping
No chance, not a shot
The rain still a rapping

The minutes eked by with rapidity
The mob shrieked and howled with stupidity
Another year past, how short it did last
Long gone and without liquidity
Conspicuous consumption down
Shoppers turning a phrase as a clown
Overt opportunism their way
No pay for indigent this day
Their brains left at home
They drive SUV to and from
No care for the rest
Haphazard, risky at best
Their money all spent
Your wares they’d have lent
For themselves to enjoy
Lest reward your employ
Congress has met
With your livelihood bet
Increasing their own
So they sit on a throne
Move forward we will
Absorbing the swill
Eating the dust
And selling the rust
Minutes will continue to fly
From now till we die
We must stand alone
And gird on our own
Do what you can
For other struggling man
As the haves juggle yours
Depleting resources to the cores
Qui vive what they wont
Juncture will eke by with rapidity
Their rulings they’ll vaunt
With but mostly without lucidity
Same auld… be bold…
